Use of live bait on smith has been legal for as long as I can remember unless I missed something.  Just checked the 2016 Nebraska fishing guide and it not listed as a restricted lake so should be good to go.

Anybody hit Smith this weekend?  looking for any ice reports as I may have a chance to get out on Tuesday morning.  I would imagine this week could be the last week for ice fishing unless its already over.??

Which Smith Lake?

Pretty sure no live baitfish of any kind is permitted on the Smith Lake on the Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge (nor any other lakes on that refuge).

Smith Lake Wildlife Management Area south of Rushville?  Live baitfish are OK.
