this weekends ice fishing

hit the cesspool saturday.  the edges had just enough ice to hold you to get on but the main ice that was already there was still there pretty good 4-5" or so of decent ice with some white hard crap on top in some spots.  some recent holes were thin but it was fairly safe.  the middle opened back up completely.  it was a fairly slow day but we got some pike, nothing big.  the average sized pike there were choking themselves on our big baits (but what else is new).  sunday, i needed a change of scenery so we hit up some nice perch, crappie and pickerel with a nice fat largie to start the day; pretty much non-stop action for a few hours...  then the bite shut off completely at around 11:30 for everyone in range of us, not slowed down...it just stopped completely!  oh well!  still a nice weekend fishing.  still waiting for that first MONSTER through a hole this year!
