Falling through the ice
« on: Feb 08, 2016, 01:34 PM »
Heard 2 kids fell through the ice this weekend at Sunset Marina on two separate occasions.  Sounds like one was out on the ice fishing and fell through.  The other was apparently fishing off the dock, slipped, and fell through the ice.  Both kids had to be rescued, and thankfully both are fine.

If you're still out on the ice, make sure you're taking the proper precautions.  Don't go alone, wear a life jacket, take a rope, etc.  I'm done fishing until open water season.

Wow thats nuts! I was on 8-10" sunday. Ice was fine on river backwaters! I have a buddy on my late season spot right now, measured 14" this morning.

Are they running aerators by the slips?

Are there posts for the slips in the water? That can make it thin
Every plastics manufacturer claims plastics outfish livebait. So now I use livebait just for the increased challenge.
