Tip Up Fishing At Lake Salem

I'd like to try tip up fishing at Salem. Where's the best place to setup? How rare is it to catch trout and salmon?
Thanks in advance

As you step off the access, look left, that would be south west and walk until you are opposite the last camp and go out about 50 ft from shore.  There's a reef there that forms from the river; fish on the lake side of it, from 4 to 15 ft of water.  But the biggest walleye I ever saw in person was 11 lbs and was caught in 1 ft of water, basically in the mud, on the east side of Little Salem, but watch out for the springs in there, they'll surprise you...
