The Insane Ice Season continues 👍

Slow fish weekend but fun times with Matt (Icehole) Manny (Manitron)  Craig (craiger) Paul (comeonnow) Few locals were there with us Brian, Mark, John. We had  spectacular weather on Sunday (Today)! Saturdays sunrise was incredible , Sliver crescent moon & Venus just above the clouds ! The sunset was almost as incredible! 8" of ice Tight to the shore! There were 5 MASSIVE holes though! assuming washed out auger holes from the rain. Thank God no one fell though them! Roughly 30" across! (green rope on chisel is 28" from top to bottom!) they were Covered by frozen snow crust!!! The guys using little bait had more action. I was running 3 - 5" suckers and 2 - 10"/12" suckers. A few ok bass were caught, few decent pickerel and a decent perch on a 5" sucker. Even though the flags weren't  popping all day, the scenery and peace and quiet was awesome.

Hello Jimmy, I hope your doing well! Everyone in our group was being extra careful chopping allot more than a normal walk and checking. I personally chopped every 12"-15" straight in front of me and we stayed in our well checked paths . Arms were a little sore from the excessive chopping but well worth staying dry! The lightweight chisel was so nice for the search of the manholes!

Good trip none the less! I thought I would end up flagless Saturday, luckily second half of the day produced a couple.
Ironically I drove nearly 4 hours less to fish 5 min from my house yesterday and only had a few hours to fish and didn't get one flag...

 I fished in a t-shirt for a little while in the afternoon.  Only got one slime dart on the day, but it was still a fun day on the ice nonetheless.   Nice meeting you Manny and Paul!  Wish we had more flags to chase out there,  but sitting around wasn't half bad

I think this was the first time I fished there in mid winter. It's usually my start & ending pond of the season. I've had 2 dozen bait days there and other times going home with more bait than when I arrived lol. (Matt's fault for catching the perch fingerings ) in the bucket they went😆 . I had a great time as always, Fish are just a bonus!  Good people, good food,  great weather , a little Dead music, always makes for a fantabulistically fantabulious day !  I must be getting old because 2 days in a row to the hills is kicking my arse now lol . 8 hours drive time 20-22 hours on the ice with a total of 8 hours sleep in 2 days isn't like it used to be. Hope to see ya'll again soon!  I'm planning a " Grateful Gathering (~);} "  for sometime this season, hopefully we get safe ice all over again . I have a spot in mind but it's not good at the moment.
