I was one of the guys out on Flint on Saturday.  For those of you wondering about the earlier post about Flint lakes ice being good and holding 7-8 people, there were 7 people that attempted to fish it Saturday.  Most made it an hour maybe 2 and got the heck out of dodge.  Despite other reports, the ice is/was very sketchy.  You definitely didn't want to be sitting in a group of three in close proximity to each other.  It looks solid but is sketchy so be safe if you attempt.  Many areas with 5 inches of ice and then 10 foot away there would be 2.5" etc.   an area near the launch was under 2" and this is an area you have to walk through if you want out on the lake!  Likely a reason no one even attempted to walk on it yesterday.  Ultimately, I love Flint lake out of the chain as it is the cleanest lake, but Be safe if you try it even after this weeks cold front, the ice may still be sketchy especially if we get a lot of snow, the ice is not as strong as it looks and there are a few open areas of water still on the lake.    GOOD LUCK AND STAY SAFE FELLAS>
