4 of us were out on carmi for the last 2.5 hours of the day Saturday and caught two 8" perch.  Another friend of mine was out there with 2 other guys also on Saturday from 8am-5:30pm.  All 3 were jigging, and they had quite a few tip-ups out and they caught and released one 15" walleye, and they brought home 12 perch.  Not very successful I don't think for 3 guys and almost 10 hours of fishing.

But I'm still wondering if "panfish" is one category or are they doing separate prizes for each species of panfish?

I'm sorry, I thought the FFA had a smaller one last weekend. I know there's a big one this coming weekend.

Anyone know what the ice is looking like after the warm up?

I was there on Sunday, and found the there was virtually no change in the ice from the previous weekend - good 8-9" where I was out from the SP (same area both times, can't speak for the rest of the lake). The only real change was the patchy snow that was there the week before was gone, so creepers were a must.

I was there Sunday too on the south end.

Was wondering if anyone fished Carmi before the rain? How thick was the ice and do you think the shoreline will be okay after the rain? Was gonna go tomorrow(Friday) still might, but might wait till Saturday. Has any one caught any good eyes and pike this year? Thanks

I am heading up there Saturday, taking my sister out for some perch.  I thought we were headed to Caspian but she is meeting at my place instead of me at hers, so Carmi it is.  I will be getting on at the state park access.  Curious to know how things are looking after the rain if anyone gets out there today.
