Southern Alberta Northerns
« on: Jan 30, 2016, 11:30 AM »
Folks are curious, now with so many Southern Alberta reservoirs closed to retention due to Northern Pike population collapse - will the population rebound?

The answer is - with the help of Alberta anglers - Yes.

Report Poachers - Clean up after yourself (and if you are generous, others) - Research Northern Pike habitat and specifically spawning areas, use that knowledge to protect these areas from your accidental intrusion - most of all ***Get out and explore new water!***

There is still a strong population of large Northern Pike in our Southern Alberta reservoirs, and not just the reservoirs that are typically labelled as "Big Pike Lakes"

These are from this year, all different fish - all in exceptional health.

Different days - different fish, same shirt - different pants!

This one is hot off the press:

The big fish are there, get away from the crowds and your exploration will be rewarded!
