Montana just got a flag for Crappie .com  it took me a while but we got one now we need Crappie Fanatics to go join and start posting. Its funny they thought we only fish for Trout out here in Montana.
Yes bean is by Haver Mt and Broad veiw Pond is by Braod view  Mt it was planted with crappie  in the 80s I fished it as a kid with my Cousin.

My buddy and I caught over 80 crappie in about 6 hours Saturday. That was good fun. Saw a guy catch one that was 2 1/2 pounds. Man what a fish. I would have been heading to the taxidermist!

Didnt look like a lot of people fished Mcwennegar this winter.  Few years ago I would drive by and the place had so many people out there at night it looked like a mini town.  Anybody know whats goin on with that - just been wondering

Yes I am sure it did, but that still doesnt make any sense why you still dont see people out there trying.  Even if the fishing isnt as great as it you to be.

yes the net can cause to much pressure, if we learn to limit ourselves we won't devastate our fish populations to none existence, we can be our worst enemies.

I fished mcgwennegar in mid January and i put on the ice about 0100 and fished until 0700. I marked fish and even got a few to follow but didn't catch a thing.  I wish there was a place somewhat near by that had consistent crappie, they are probably my favorite fish to catch especially if you can catch monster slabs which i doubt we'll ever see in western Montana.
