I've been doing well on crescent lake and had a bit of luck on Pontiac lake. Interested in union lake. Still wondering how it is out there, I rarely get to drive by

ice around here is going to get unsafe quick warm temps In the day time have me nervous about the ice not being here or being safe by week end.. the ice at Kensington today looked white and foamy...which happens in warm temps.... by the way there is a ton of lakes I would check out in your are of Oakland county if you don't know get a county map book like "outdoor connections" michiagn lower or upper Michigan county map book... they sell them at gander and Walmart so if you don't got one get one...also dnr bas sites are great access points....   you can find them on the dnr web site....I was looking at white lake but the temps are not good so I don't think ice fishing there is going to be any  more next week end...

I was on union this past Saturday, was able to get a half bucket of 9.5-10.5 inch gills as well as some decent crappie. The area I was fishing only had about 3.5 inches of ice. Doubtful it will be safe this weekend

I was driving around today and nobody was fishing local lakes when typically there are several in the evening. There was water on top everywhere. Going to try to go tomorrow, will report back how things look out there.

bring a spud and check the ice... it is a warm week sitting on shore watching the ice get thinner and thinner and further and further away form shore...

Went out today, couldn't locate any fish for the life of me. Will go out tomorrow to but with mid to high 40s and rain for the weekend I'm getting kind of depressed the ice will have to start all over.

Few from Oakland County today. 5-7 fow, Glo jigs, tight to bottom, dead sticked most. Very sluggish fish today.

Does anyone think there will be an safe ice this weekend anywhere in Oakland County? I know the warm weather sucked but we got way less rain than was originally predicted so maybe it didn't melt too much of the ice.

I plan on finding safe ice. May have to plank it onto the sheet. And unless it is thicker than I anticipate, I will be over shallow water.....  :-\

I took a careful step out on crescent lake today. Shore is pretty deteriorated, but I managed to walk out about 25 yards. 5 whacks with the spud, still didn't go through it. I personally don't feel good enough about it yet. Maybe in another week.

Sounds about right lol. I've pulled a meal off that lake once in the last 2 years, which was 3 weeks ago. I don't typically mess with it.
