Keeper perch
« on: Jan 25, 2016, 04:37 PM »
As a recently established resident of MN, I have already caught over 100 yellow perch while ice fishing with none over 8 inches.  What does everyone feel is a size large enough to keep here in MN?  I have tried several lakes in the Ottertail county area with these frustrating results or is this the norm here in God's country?

I usually don't keep them until they're over nine inches.  But I don't target them that often.
For more information read my MN nice journal

as long as your in your limits and regulations, id have to say anything you deem reasonable and respectable for your table fare. if they are 10" i keep em. somedays there are a few 8 1/2-9's that get added to the pile due to a deep hook set or to make a meal for a few ppl.
Got one goin'!

I like to keep 9's or better. anything smaller is hard to get all the meat with an electric. but whats right for you works
