Good start to the season

Got out with my dad and bros Wednesday and my uncle also joined us for his first ever ice fishing trip. We were there at first light and the bite was slow to begin with but we picked away at them and steadily got a pile going. The fish really turned on at the end of the day. We ended up bringing home around 100 gills and pumpkinseeds ranging from 8-10 1/2 inches. We had 10 gills that were at least 10 inches. My uncle's first fish through the ice ever was a 10 inch gill which a fish of a lifetime for a lot of people. It was a crazy day. Also went out today and the bite wasnt nearly as good but we still brought a bucketful home and got some more slobs. Needless to say its been a fun 2 days and my uncle is now hooked on ice fishing. Will try and post some photos soon.

Glad you were finally able to get out. I'm yet to step foot on the ice this season. Soon hopefully. Great story about your uncle. Good luck the rest of the season
