hardware report said rain had no effect single digit temps last nite.its still good

Fished chaumont Saturday and Sunday no complaints plenty of perch plenty of dinks. Saturday the wind was atrocious jet sled ran away while chasing that yak track fell off almost fell on my head lol then the yak track started blowing away I'm sure anyone who was watching got quite the show... Sunday was a nice warm day did get a little slushy mid day was starting to harden back up good buy 5 o'clock thou machines every where! Other than perch did catch one 12 inch walleye..... Guess there are little ones in This lake

I've fished chaumont for a couple years now and have never seen this on the perch. I had 35 perch to fillet from Sunday and more then half of them were right full of grubs. I've never seen this in the perch from chaumont. Has anyone else noticed grubs in the perch this year?

Yes I have, kept over 150 this season and only one had grubs though. They were the yellow type not black.

The majority of mine were the yellow kind but some had black and yellow grubs.

you'll get a lot of fish in a area with it for a few years then almost none again from what I have seen they go in cycles from year to year

I filleted a half bucket last night from the "Green Barn" area near Salubrious, no grubs, maybe it's the area you fished. Just a guess...

You're right there!!! Tried Chaumont beginning of the season, which usually works well for us, hooked 1 nice eye and that was it. Lost her at the boat too

That was all we did manage. Didn't get into them up there last ice season either. Not sure what's going on there. Hope it picks up soon.

Be careful on the big bay has a fair amount of water flow from lake ice can vary quite a bit.
