Anyone ever stay at the local motels up there? I'm looking to get up that way this year and would like to spend local if I could. These next few days with less wind in the forecast has me thinking positive thoughts!

stayed at a place called Duck Away Motel last year. not bad. 2 double beds, warm showers. think they have 5-6 rooms. would stay there again. only need a warm bed and shower after a long day on the ice........

I stayed at the strip of rooms down(up) the street from the house. may be going there again this winter if the ice cooperates.

Don't stay at rainbow motel!!!! Looked like real nice place on the internet,Bad news.unless you like to buy drugs and a prostitute , besides fish you catch and keep you have a good chance of bringing home bud bugs, crabs, and roaches , could not even sleep, too worried about someone stealing everything out of the truck, or a bug crawling on me.. I would sleep in my truck before I went back there..

any updates on the ice ? might be coming up sat/ sunday i gotta camp on the chaumont river . anybody local let me know how much snow dunno if i gotta get someone to plow the camp road ?

By the way! That rainbow motel you are referring to is in Niagara falls NY not down that way.I know cause I live 20 miles north of it in Youngstown.

havn't drilled a hole yet myself buy there have been guys fishing the bay since 1/20. If you need a up to the minute report call or text greg at chaumont hardware (site sponsor) he has the best bait and reports.
depends on what you are driving for the plowing, 10-12 inches or so of snow on the ground, if you have a 4x4 you could probably just drive in.
