Lowrance Elite 4 Chirp and Ice Pack install issue...
« on: Jan 14, 2016, 06:07 PM »
Thought I was getting a killer deal especially with the rebates going on. Picked up the Lowrance Elite 4 Chirp with the Navionics+ and the Lowrance Ice Pack -- PPP 18i Ice Pack.

The box and what not says it supports the Elite Series... Does it not support the chirp? Do I need to order an additional part/cable? Pretty annoyed.

you'll have to use the Chirp ducer to get the chirp readings... the ducer that comes with the icepack is 2d only...

It will do the chirp with either transducer I'm pretty sure. You will not get the down imaging with the ice ducer. I think he's having issues with power according to a post on another thread he posted

I bought the Elite 4 HDI for my boat. When ice fishing was on the horizon I started looking to convert it to the ice so I bought the PPP 181 and thought I had every thing I needed but I had to buy a different power cord. The plug was Blue instead of red and I think also supports the 5 series also. I recently bought the Elite 5 HDI for my boat to replace the 4 at the console and move the 4 up to trolling motor of boat.
Fish on!

From what I can tell I ordered the exact same set up. As far as power to the machine and the transducer they both work.  I just have to learn how to use it.

I have trouble picking up my jig and seeing fish when fishing in the weeds.  I been playing with adjustments, but can not get it to clear up.  Anyone have any suggestions on fishing weed beds with 4?  Mostly ice fishing.

use the shallow water mode ( it is good to 60'). I can see a size 12 swivel on my 4x
