I know we're all pumped for first ice, but with the crazy weather we've been having I am curious how many people are actually going to venture out this weekend. my time is limited with family stuff etc., I am hoping to get out for a few hours early Saturday before things really warm up. Who else is going to give it a shot? Really hard to predict ice conditions with nights been cold, days being warm etc. etc.

If someone PM's me with a spot that has decent ice, I am all in to finally relieve this itch lol. However, I know that is an absolute LONG shot! Either way, I am willing to drive and bring whatever is needed. If not, I wish you the best of luck.

It looks like this week is the coldest yet. Too bad alot of the ponds were completely open as of yesterday. I am still hopeful that we might make at least 5" by saturday. Let's hope that storm stays off shore as well.

I live in Chepachet, and I didnt see any lake that fully locked up. I live near by Keech pond, I drive pass by lake washington and bowdish. all 3 lake not locked up. I think nothing ice safe lake, maybe very small pond. SUCKS big time! $:-\$ $:-\$

Thanks for the update. I drove by Stump this afternoon and there was about 75% open water. Wind is causing major havoc!

Same thing I am wondering. I am 100% in on Saturday from sunrise to sunset. Just need to find ice and I am hoping it's at least 5".

Wordens could be an option in the next day or two. Always a quick freezer. Even with all this wind was 90% locked up as of yesterday.

I am in CF, right next door to you DJV. Does anyone know how Barbers pond is? If Wordens is almost all locked up I would think the smaller size of Barbers should be even better.

I am interested in fishing the closest safe ice around ALL day Saturday. If its wordens, then so be it and I'm in. Personally I am thinking smaller bodies will have better ice if any at all by Saturday.

Same here guys. Although I just read we're looking at 40 MPH gusts throughout the day. The snow doesn't bother me, it's the damn wind.

Norton was open , I know it's mass but it's close enough
Turner reservoir / central pond east providence open, however I wouldn't ice fish there only from a canoe
gonna be all about the small spots around here, the wind looks a little better next two days then how it's been

I got a report from a viable source that a small pond, South from Wallum Lake, had some people out fishing yesterday round 3:00 P.M.

Fingers crossed for Saturday.

Doesn't look like we are getting the storm. Forecast right now is 1-3 inches
