2016 ice fishing report

Off to a good start for the season finally got some ice to fish.
Penny on her first trip every never seen ice.

Got a nice little mess in a couple hours on small local lake.

Didn't have my tourney card with me no printer at my house. Printed it at my parents this morning heading back pout tomorrow.

Just two keepers yesterday. Will be heading up north next weekend for some walleyes after this cold snap makes us some ice. -15f this morning here i think i will be staying in in front of the fire today. Got plans to finish the shack this week if i can suck it up and go work in the cold after work hooking the heater up is the first thing on the list. Hopefully i can pull it out next weekend.

Braved the cold yesterday and did alright on the gills. The bight was slow but it was nice and warm with the heater going. The bigger ones were around 9 inches. Looks like next weekend is going to be nice going to hit up a new lake that i have been wanting to try.

Been slacking on updating this thread! This is from last weekend got into some crappie in around 30 feet of water. The biggest of the day was 11 1/2 inches if i would of been a half inch more i would of put it on the wall. Waiting for a 12 incher to mount. Packing up to head out and try a new lake today!

Went out today and did some fishing still havent made it up north to walleye fish yet. Worked a 60 hour week last week and didn't feel like making the drive Friday after work. I have plenty of lake that are great for a day trip around me. Had to sort out alot of smaller fish today. This lake is known for small fish. Did get some keeper to eat! Taking tomorrow off from fishing need to get some things done around the house. Tell next weekend!
Didnt even need to turn the heater on today it was so weird not many years we have a 40 degree day in the end of January

Thought about mounting these but a northern had been trying to eat them from the teeth marks in the skin!

MY good friend Justin came out fishing this weekend. He had never been if fishing he had a blast. He only had only goal in mind and it was a fish fry with his family. Are mission was complete!
Caught two snakes jiging a minnow head in 22 feet of water. He is hooked we are planning a trip up to his parents cabin soon to chase some walleyes.

Got out last weekend with the family. The weather was not on are side it was cold and very windy the bite was slow but we had a good time and got into a couple of schools of rock bass. Now this weekend it is warm and rained i dont know whats going on!
