I'm looking at Monday for good ice and good temps. Now I just have to spend the next two days deciding where head out!

wind is ripping cant see more then 50yrds from shore looks like some snow will be getting blown off, i can take the cold temps but not going to battle the wind today

Looking to grab a rod from fishusa for eyes.. What kinda rod / length / action you guys using .... The "13" rods look nice

All depends on personal preference, obviously, but even after a couple of years of buying custom rods the one standard that always comes out with me is the St. Croix Premier. 32" M.

A bit heavy but as close to perfect as I can find.

Out of chapman today with the sled not many fish lots of wind ice is 9" thick wind sucks don't want to move I'll be at the shoals tomorrow south shore ice seems to be better than the north for machines solid shore ice out of chapman

Fished out of apps today in the tournament between two off us just two perch moved a couple of times but could. Not locate any eyes one guy out deeper than us caught 5 with two keepers two cold and windy to stay out all day-3 degrees with 25 mile winds ice was about 8 inches thick

its making ice thats for sure more snow is getting blown off today also. it's been a white out all day out there and its not snowing just from whats getting blown off is causing the white out

Fished 7-12:30. 9 shorts. 2 keepers and 7 perch. Not the best day. Still have come up short of my limit again this year. Maybe tomorrow. It felt like last winter out there.

Man more guys out today then last weekend...brave either way...all yr guys been walking with spuds ...a few guys been out with machines but not one will tell you it's fine to do...use good judgement good luck

Exactly. Nobody is going to tell you that it is good for machines right now. Some guys are running machines in certain spots. Most of those guys fish often and have watched the conditions change in the past 3 weeks so they have a good idea of where it is safe. Other guys actually spud their path out and then run out with a machine if it is good.

Nobody wants to be responsible for someone dumping their sled or even worse losing their life.
