I was up in my grandfathers attic and found an old lowrance fish finder probably 1980's ish. How reliabale are the older ones and how are they on battery life? would they be ok for icefishing ? any help would be great thanks in advance

this is a striker flasher that I've had forever, I used it then replaced it with a vex fl18. It works well enough to give you the depth and if there are any fish, I guess that's all you need.

if grandpas used 2 six volt batteries just clip the wires and use the 12 volt battery
