« on: Nov 29, 2015, 09:06 PM »
We had a good weekend fished for 2 hours yesterday and 3 today with the wife , we let all of them go except for the big one my wife caught the people next to us wanted it. They were all planter brood stock but fun first ice trip. Got to play with my new ice auger and i love it. Beautiful sunset and Geese on the way home  @)

Great picts Reel. Took the kids and brother-in-law out Meadow Creek this afternoon and got some crappies and trout. It was a good day, the kids had fun fishing and sledding.

Does g&f stocked some like that or are these "banana trout" pretty rare?

Banana trout are sterile crosses between an albino rainbow and a stealhead. Due to this they are 100% stocked fish. They don't get many of them each year so it is still kind of rare to find them. I found a few a couple years back in Hawkins reservoir with my fly rod and the biggest I landed was just over 13 lbs. Here is a picture of that one.

I'm not sure you got ALL your fact right, but they are a cool fish.  In my experience they seem to fight A LOT harder than regular rainbows.

I'm not entirely sure either but that is the explanation I got from the fish and game office when I asked.

I will do my best, will be 10 days for i can get up there, But if i hear of anything before then i will let you know. we fished it a 3 weeks ago from the boat and did well caught one fish that had a 50.00 reward tag. It was really low. The water didn't even go up into the trapper creek arm and the goose creek arm had 7 to 8 foot in it.  I imagine its improved sense then but not a lot. The tower was about 10 to 15 foot out of the water.
