Since I often used to lurk here I thought it was about time to contribute. I was at bittern yesterday, driving on was no problem with ice around 18" in my area however fishing was poor. Had some small pike action(seem to get smaller every year) but saw no walleye. Nothing really keepable.

Heard from another site it was netted hard this summer, but I've also heard people were still catching some eyes.

Hit up bittern today for first time this year. Lots of bodies out today. The eye's were hungry where we were. There was 5 of us out and had limit within 2 hours. Headed over to Montreal lake and caught 1 decent pike there. It's definitely slow at Montreal lake.

Crazy busy on Bittern today, so many close to shore...I like being out a little and we did well today, tons of small jacks, I don't keepem until they are a decent size so we didn't keep any....it was easy to catch our limit on Walleyes, decent size...good day...going further north next time...

I would say about 4 inches of snow, it was fairly easy to get anywhere we wanted to go...we were out in about 10 feet of water and about 18 inches of ice....

Hey guys. New to this forum. And new to the bittern lake fishing. Planning on heading out maybe Sunday or Monday. Good to be on with trucks? Where is the best place to access the lake from and anyone able to point me in the direction of a fishing spot? Not looking for anyone's secret spot. Haha

Good to know you can still drive on.  How has the bite been?  Just first and last light? or has it been decent?  Thinking about heading there Saturday or Sunday.

was up on bittern on Saturday, no problem getting around with four wheel drive fishing was slow but steady we shack fished and waited for the walleye to come to us. Interesting though that with all my fancy hooks from northlands to pimples and flashbaits the best producer bar none was the number 8 yellow and red five of diamonds

hit the lake on saturday, threw everything at them and zero wally's. Caught a few small pike and thats it. Lots of people out there though and when the co's stopped by they said they haven't seen much for walleye on the ice recently.
well if you were me then i'd be you and i really wouldn't know what the hell I was talking about...

i saw them around 5:30, didn't sound like anyone was catching.  couple inches of snow today but we need a couple feet before that poor lake is wiped out.

Kinda fluked out  ....  Drilled a line of holes in an area I had not fished before, found a break line with 3 foot depth change over 10 ft span that had rock.   Inhabitants were hungry and of nice size, all between 2 and 4 Lbs
