Chum pot
« on: Nov 20, 2015, 05:53 PM »
I've been looking around for a chum pot to purchase with little luck, was hoping someone had an idea where I may be able to buy one. My homemade inventions don't seem to last more than one season...  looking to be able to drop the chum in a nice little pile on the bottom of the lake.

what do you chum for if you don't mind me asking?  I bought a chum pot for cusk fishing and would like to put it to use other than derby weekend...

Lakers respond well to chum.

I think with lakers though they're responding as much to the visual element of falling bits catching light as any scent element. Which is why I just cut stuff up really small and drop it in the hole. If using a pot, I think you'd want to lift it or suspend it and shake it around periodically to get bits dropping.

I like to drop a pile if cut/ground up sucker meat on the bottom when I Laker fish. Sometimes bounce my jig on the pile to stir it up

most of the lakes i fish dont have lakers in them but do have browns or bows in a couple of them.  Is it worth a shot to attract them them with chum as well, just in more shallow water?  thanks!
