They advertise that it is "hot wax braided", any body use it?  trying to order 1 big spool instead of a bunch of little ones.

My Indian Hills came with a wax coated line. I like it because it doesnt absorb water and turn into a frozen birds nest on the ice while pulling in a fish. Makes it easier to mange the line off the ice if the fish takes a run to.

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad.

Waxed line is real nice when it's new but it starts to wear off after a season. It leaves little balls of wax as it wears off. Still like it though. Line lays down nicely after a big run out because it doesn't freeze as bad. Just my observations after a couple seasons using it on my jack traps.

Got introduced to Jack Traps about 6 years ago when I moved to Mass from Michigan. Great product, and I like the waxed line. The water on the line will still freeze to the ice on super cold days but once its wound back up and in the hole it all comes together again. Always purchased the traps with the line already on it but would speculate that the line from the link above is the exact same. I've only used the tan or black and either seems to work well regardless of color...

No you are not going to want to put tip up line on a reel if I understand what you are asking!
