Getting ready to send snowmobile to the shop to get tuned up and tweeked to run a little better this season

Just ordered an Eskimo Quickfish 3 floor model off ebay......140 bucks, 90 day warranty and free shipping.  I wasn't keen on hub style shantys until I used a friends last winter on Saginaw Bay.  I'll keep the one man flip over for those short walks out on Lake St. Clair.

No....floor model....as in on the floor at the store for people to examine.  Its coming from a store located in Minnesota.  Already in transit.  If I find something wrong with it no biggie as its warranted well into the coming season.  If the season ever gets here.

okay. had me going like a tent with a floor.

i use foam anti-fatigue mats in our hub some times.

also i use a hunting seat cushion for the heater so they don't melt the ice just have to be careful how far in front of it it is on the ice so it doesn't burn too.

10 bucks. not sure why it has two numbers. they look the same to me

i don't use the edge pieces. i do use these in the bottom of our yaks. makes the bottom of the boat much softer and keeps any water away and insulates.

I sold my Frabill Commando and took the plunge on the recruit flip over.   I had $220 in gift cards plus the $ I got out of the Commando.   Didn't have to put to much extra into it so I'm happy.   There sure is a lot more space in it compared to the Commando.   It's still in the box in the garage.   Tomorrow is assembly day!   Anyone else get a recruit?   Of so,  how do you like it and do you have any assembly tips?   Thanks!

Tip 1 is to set aside about 2-3 hours for assembly. Tip 2 when putting on the tent be sure to use the spreader bars to space out the bars flip over bars to line up the the velcro to secure the bars in place. Tip 3 before you screw the rubber weather strip to the sled to secure the tent make sure it is pulled tight and to your liking.

Have added a Striker Hardwater suit and digger auger rack for the sled so far. I'm hoping for a TUCR walleye stick, a hyfax kit for my Frabill and some of those new buckshot flutter spoons before my wife calls an attorney. I think the tackle companies got wise this year and hired El Niņo so we spend more
money waiting for the lakes to freeze. Last year I was fishing on November 22nd!

Well stopped by the house today to find my new Shappell 6500 widehouse!  Ordered it last Thursday from Dicks and was able to get it delivered to my door for $192 after taxes and shipping.  They had a 20% off anything sale, plus I was able to get 10% additional and they were also offerering free shipping or a credit of $15 on heavier items so I ended up paying less than $3 to ship which is cheaper than gas to do in-store pick-up.  I think this will be a great Shanty to get the family out.

Good to hear.  I have been eyeing them up for a few years, but could never find the 6500 clearance out so when I ran across this deal I figured it was my chance.  Plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 small kids for sure.  Looking forward to using it smelt fishing so I have enough room to run the longer rods and stay warm.

Now I have the Frabill I2 jacket on the way. Hopefully I get to use my ice suit this year!
I'd rather be fishing!
