Elevenmile
« on: Nov 05, 2015, 12:12 PM »
I'd like to be able to report 5" of hard ice and making another inch every night. However, the water temperature is really at 49°, down from 53° last week. At this rate, we won't be drilling until the middle of December unless the cold weather steps on the gas. That was a pretty brutal lake to fish last season. Some guys did okay but many more took a beating. Got me thinking about some new lakes and some new species to explore. The lake inherited some decent Antero fish but probably also some Antero fishermen. I came upon this video last night that Matt Pelletier put together a few years back fishing over at Sucker Cove.
Shows Dynamic Lures and JawJackers in action and some very nice trout.

We're born, we live for a while, and then we die.  Sounds like a good reason to go ice fishing.

Yeah but not the real chances of hooking into some real pigs. Like 5-10lbs or so. ;)

If I'm gonna freeze my ace for slimers they better be BIG slimers! ;D

Good points -- but I know a place with a chance for a few early ice pigs, too.  Maybe not 5-10lbs, but I found a few good ones last November with Fishslap. Plus, I just can't wait that long to scratch the itch!  ;)

The only reason I ice fish is because the water is frozen. ;D
