Western WI Get Together

I know we did this successfully a few years back and was hoping maybe to plan something out again. So anyone have any ideas on lakes and dates?

We could try Rice Lake, or could do Lake Eau Claire, Lake Altoona, Big Round, or could pick a lake in Barron Co.

I'm down for whatever. Just hoping to get on a lake that someone is some what familiar with and hopefully mother nature cooperates.

I am in i am by Prairie farm. We should try to plan something! Cant wait for the ice

I put my shack out on Shell Lake for early ice and then out on Long Lake (Washburn County) pretty much until ice off.  Fish usually cooperate on one of those two lakes.

Lake Altoona is out, dam dam repairs caused a winter long draw down and ice fishing is closed for the season.

I would be up for where ever, new to the area, would be good to meet you guys. Sorry I can't offer any advice, haven't fished hard water up here yet.

Was out checking the ice on the upper turtle and magnor and they both still have a ways to go before good ice hopefully soon.

Upper Turtle would be a good place, Lake Eau Claire further south, menomin?

Menomin would be great for me  but the way the forecast looks for the next 10 days we'll need the boats!

I refilled oil in my lower unit and took the boat out last Saturday, only caught 1 perch, but at least I was fishing.

Hopefully after the first of the year we will have some good ice! hopping that the ice stays late into april to make up some of the lost time!

I'm sure most everyone knows this by now but we're driving on Menomin now, if anybody see's a crazy dude on his three wheeler with a single man shanty popped up behind it.  That'll be me, come say hi.

How much ice now and can you drive on the whole lake?  If I see you out there I will say hi.

Lots of guys are driving on the main lake, I took the wheeler into the channel about to where the east shore comes in, didn't advance to the 90 bridge cause I'm a bit of a wuss.  But guys are driving out to their permanents every morning.  Channel had enough current I had to drill an extra hole to the west to mark my jigs.  10" where the 90 channel widens out.  First ice season on Menomin so I'm still gun shy about driving the road rig out there.

Is anybody still interested in a get together/bbq out on Menomin?  I would host if I had a nice permanent or something but other wise we could all meet up out there and catch a buzz if nothing else.
