  Binghamton NY and it's sunny and 50 degrees(F).  I don't think we'll be on hard stuff until middle of January.  I think this is the year I finally decide to make a long road trip.

Can't help but wonder how well this keeps up with day to day ice conditions.  We've got 3-4 inches of solid clear ice everywhere here in NE SD and it doesn't even show ice in Canada.

I think there is much more value which can be gathered from boots on the ground.

All the lakes here now are frozen over but nothing shows on the map. Smaller lakes have 5" of ice now.

here in Indiana around  Fort Wayne ponds are showing 2-4" most of the lake just have a layer!

That ice map is SOOO hard to read - and inaccurate.  Are there any better ice maps available?

Not sure, best thing to do is get one the ice, check it on your way out.
