First ice predictions!

What you guys say will be the first time you get on some ice this year? I'm sorry if my purchase of an awd vehicle and new  flasher impacts us all...ha. pray for some ice.

I'm hoping by the first weekend in December! I bought myself a new Marcum Lx7, and I've been itching everyday since! I've tried it off the dock on the lake, but with the shallow water and weeds being bad this year, it didn't work the greatest. Cant wait to get on the ice and give it a hard workout all winter!

it going to be around January 10-15   I guessing  before I get on the ice  most of the time it is later... reason being I don't risk it and go out on 2.5-3 inches of ice and stay out on it ... I don't like going out till about 4 inches some of the pounds and lakes around here are spring fed so falling threw is very easy to do....plus vegetation keep the area warm were the ice grows over top of it and the ice is thinner in those spots some times... and were do blue gill and crappie go to vegetation... lol's..

Last week of December.  Already took vacation for the days between Xmas and New Years and am planning to head far north into Michigan for (hopefully) 6" of solid ice!

From my journal I figured that the five year avg to be on the ice in my area is 12/16. Hope that holds true this year. Time will tell.
