Probably won't feel very safe until I get back from Phoenix after Christmas.

Made it out Saturday morning and fished near Loney's point. Every hole I drilled was 6-7 inches of ice. Perch bite was on but nothing of much size. I'm sure glad to get out and find safe ice. Will definitely be back next weekend.

where abouts where you that had 8 inches? i was on the north side across from loneys today and we only had maybe 6 inches of ice...did good on the perch though, and had one that felt much heavier spit out my hook about four seconds after i set it...hope this weather doesnt wreck the small amount of ice we have..

Spent the day at Loney's Point, all my holes were 7-8 inches thick. I don't think this warm weather has really affected the ice too much but as always check the ice for yourself. I was also expecting water on the ice but it was dry. Had a great day on the ice.

Went out to SP on sunday. We were really busy pulling perch off of our lines, but most of them were dinks. Only kept a few of the bigger ones. Couple little jacks came up as well as one eye.

We had a real good day out there,  lots of perch caught.  All little guys though, even my 4yr old was reeling them in.  Pike on camera again but no hits.

I think he just meant it was easy to get on the ice.  There was 10" last Friday and 12" in the same area Sunday.  Probably close to 14" by now.  Guys were driving 3/4 ton diesels on Friday.  Lots of trucks with big trailers Sunday

Yes, that is what I meant. It is easy to get on, and virtually no snow. As far as ice thickness you would be good.
