Where can I get a greenhornet rod ?

The better question in my mind is why would you want one?  Nostalgia is one thing but movie nostalgia...really???  Modern materials are a wonderful thing.

Yes, modern stuff is great, but don't fool yourself into thinking it is always better. I've seen plenty of "old school" Rods like a schooley just smoke everything when panfishing.

buying one is easy enough but they aren't hard to make either. All you need is a couple feet of rod tip, flyrod is best, and a piece of wood. A band or coping saw, a rasp and some sandpaper and some paint. From what I remember this was a school shop class project back in the day, I'm thinking in Michigan but I could be wrong on that.

just do a search for green hornet, you'll find the pattern and you got plenty of time to get to work on it! ;)

I woke up this mornin and wandered down to the shop. Grabbed an old piece of cedar I had layin around and sketched a green hornet on it. It looked good so I started working on it. In a couple hours I was holding onto an unfinished green hornet ice rod! Looks good. Just gotta finish sand it and give it a paint job.

I will. I made a template for it so I can replicate it when I want. I gotta do a pellet stove today, so I'll get back to the green hornet after that. Gotta check on paint colors. ;)

Probably just wants one for a display piece in a man-cave. Or maybe he wants to use it? I guess I wouldn't question it?

yep, different strokes for different folks. Besides, it was fun just makin the thing. Now if I catch some fish with it it'll mean that much more to me. I just hope I don't lose it down a hole  ;D

I used an old bass pole for the rod and it's a bit stiff, more like a medium action. I'm guessing it'll get plenty of use fishing for trout and catching pickerel ::) It's really not a jigging rod any way, more like a dead stick.  If I make more I'll probably get some ice rod blanks.
