Can you feel it.
« on: Aug 23, 2015, 04:27 PM »
Can you feel that, there's something in the air. The mornings are cool with a crisp bite. The geese sure know it's coming and there nervous. Tied up a seasons supply of jigs and freshened up the blades on the auger. Can't wait for hard water season. Tight lines everybody and play safe.

Moving the pontoon boats off the floor of the store yesterday and unboxing all the new Marcum products last night and charge them up for the shelves. Time to think ice......

A bit early I have not given up on my boat just yet.  Too many fat walleye still to chase..

Yeah, I'm sick of all this nice weather.  Enough summer and fall!  Bring on the ice  :)

I am looking forwards to hunting whites under the ice.

My perching finger is getting itchy.

Have a good start when you get out all!

I've already been scoping out some of the nearby lakes, all I need is 4-5" of ice and I'm good to go. All this talk of El Nino is scaring me a little bit.

-8 out here today...brrrr
San can't even knock the frost off yet.   Sounds like 2 more likes of below -5.  That will make a difference.

Beaver ponds and small lakes west of rocky are frozen solid. Another week or two of cold nights should be enough to drop a line for some trout.

I was checking some lakes just west of Edmonton today, all still wide open (not surprised), but the water temperature is right for some magic to start happening!   ;D

went to take my pup for a walk last night and took the hand auger along with me and rod.  Ended up at Chickakoo and on the ice fishing.  4" of ice, and a bunch of guys out there. I only stayed for about 30 minutes and hooked into a few, nothing top side though.  Spent more time throwing the ball for my pooch.  I imagine the bigger lakes will be freezing over shortly!
