Looking out my kitchen window there is a tree that always turnes first. Well its colors have changed from green to orange/yellow...... Weather is a changin........

My sunset pic was not from Newfound. It was taken at Massabesic Lake. The guy who took it was from Yankee Magazine and it appeared in last winters edition. Meatandmetal's sunset pic is from Newfound. Yes that is where we usually fish from.

Nice pics. Actually I was talking about sunset pic with igloo and ledges in background. Such a pretty lake. Sometimes I do well for bows other times not much. Bows are elusive there.

I'm itchin for ice. Just came into some new/used gear from a. Close friend's father. Can't wait to see if his old Eskimo shark can cut hole better than my 60's era eska-mo!!
Btw, farmer's almanac is predicting a hard cold winter!! Just what we need!!
If the snow gets too deep I may need to look into a snowmobile this year.... I've always been a walker but last year was rough. Haha

As much as I want the farmers alamanac to be correct, there is supposed to be an extremely strong el nino effect this winter. According to the meteorologists, it makes the winters in the NE a bit milder.

I wont say the name of the spot but I pretty much know where your at there. What does the dark side mean exactly? does it stay darker there longer due to it being on the eastern shore?

The Dark Side is a not a place for the weak. Once you go there you will never leave. This is a photo that the Captain took when Bamb308 and I left that same day as the previous photo above.

That is why it was originally called the Dark Side. It's taken on it's own life now. LOL.

lol i wish ice season was closer, but the trees are turning colors because they are stressed from no water ! the ice will be here soon but not to soon i still need to build a new shack and set up a new bait tank !

I am ready. Just gotta re-line the traps, put some windows in the hard side, do the maintenance on the sled, sell my gas auger and buy an electric, get the bait tank set up, repack the bearings on the trailer, put my ice tackle bag together, patch my rubber boots... ok, I guess I'm not ready.
