Humminbird 688 GPS Users
« on: Jul 17, 2015, 10:06 PM »
Looking for an ice fishing GPS unit.   Want one that I can take out in the boat to mark structure.   GPS is my focus in a unit.   I run a Humminbird Ice-55,  so I got the flasher covered.    I have a handheld Lowrance GPS which is not very helpful.

Comments on other units welcome.

The 688 or Helix series will work much better than the ice 55.

You can choose any hb unit and add the XI 9 20 transducer for 83/200khz - this way you can mount the skimmer on your boat and use the ice ducer through the hardwater.

Another option is to use the skimmer all year long - which is what I do.

The best bang for the buck might be the Helix 5 or 7 sonar/gps

If you're marking brush piles you might want to invest in DI

Catchin' Fish
