just caught a monstah at highland
« on: Apr 24, 2015, 10:43 AM »
story is too long to post so i'll just post the pic!!!! CAUGHT AND RELEASED! Not weighed, i didnt want to injure this fish, it was a state record brown (not that i think it counts) but still  awesome going for largies with my giant spinnerbait on a baitcast rod with 55lb braided line....

If that picture doesnt work check this out:

Well done!!!!  Although I don't agree that they should stock state records it is still awesome that you have the opportunity to catch giant fish like that.

This Seef thing is getting old. Most of our Connecticut's trophy rainbows are caught shortly after being released from one of our state hatcheries. So stop hating. If someone takes a Seef and claims the state record brown ..so...be...it!! Good for him....I am an old timer and stalk the holdover  brown trout some would say are the only type of brown trout deserving to break the record. Not the case...We are a diverse group celebrate it...and a little humility goes a long way young man...

nice job frenchy    musta been fun fighting with him      I saw a similar one caught there 2 yrs ago by a woman and a guy in a row boat and they were fishing corn on the bottom and the darned thing sucked in both their baits and they both ended up reeling it up  quite a funny sight         others here seem a bit jealous   never mind them

We stock the big fish in hopes they are caught,  the guys at the hatcheries  want people out catching the fish, and keeping them aswell, always is good to hear people are catching some of the big ones we put in
