CHU ice report

I drive by the Dam (rt62) everyday. this am edges are open and the main body looks ready to ice out.

I don't see an issue with the opening. After today temps steadily increase up into the mid-60's by late weekend. Snow gone, warm temps, hungry lakers:-) Bring it on!

"Due to ice conditions that persist on the Wachusett and Sudbury Reservoirs, the opening day of fishing will be delayed.  Fishing is generally allowed beginning the first Saturday of April, so long as there is no ice on the Reservoirs. Given the persistent winter conditions, the Department of Conservation and Recreation is delaying the opening until at least Saturday April 18, 2015."

Looks like another week. Just copied this off the Mass Wildlife site.  :(

 I work in Clinton and I drive by it every day, there is still a ton of ice on it. Not much below the dam.
No time for trout in life.. Its time to film some beautiful spring turkeys .......   Then shoot them in the face  ;D
after that its kong sized striped bass and tuna offshore.

   To anyone who lives any distance from the res.  I drive by it everyday it is still covered nearly 100% right to shore on most of the parts I see.  I'll try to explore further.  The DCR had the airboat out on it a few days ago pretty cool.

I never thought Ed was joking, I drive by allot and knew it would be a LATE opening. Soon though with these temps. I think it was about 65-68 on Plainfield mountain yesterday! Damn warm!!!

Hard hats fill with water probably not a good idea for you.  I know your motto "If you don't get wet you're not fishin."  It is easier to count the number of times you have stayed dry when we fish together. 😁
