Hey Guys , i am trying to stick with tradition and that is i want to Ice fish the first day of trout season, but on the ice like i did last year. I was on Bomo last weekend and even though the wind was whipping pretty good , the crappies were on Fire!!!!! and i almost landing a at least a 7 pound bass no lie  !!!! I have a short 20 second video of me fighting the fish before he threw my hook  . anyways what are the conditions on Bomo by the float bridge or prospect point Anybody been fishing Echo lake up the road from Bomo , I know there is giant perch in there because i caught them in the beginning of the year. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly I fished Sunday on champlain there's not much safe ice anywhere, from what I heard.

Keeler bay
It was tricky getting on, a lot of bad spots all over.
Got out as far as 14' heading towards Kellogg island.
6-10" of rotten white ice.
Fished for about an hour was able to get couple dozen 8-9" perch.
There where guys on the little bay across from bird land right next to the road near the wooden stairs.
Goose point.
My opinion it's not safe anymore

the ice everywhere I've looked on Champlain is either gone, or is of that scary looking soggy gray color that it always has just before it falls apart.

I will not be going out on it until I can do it in a boat.

I fished Keeler's Monday and Tuesday. Ice was sketchy on the walk off Tuesday. I heard of multiple fisherman going through when I sold my fish.
I unwrapped the boat yesterday!
