Those are outstanding pictures.

Did I read correctly that the bird with the red band was banded in New York.
I'm just here to read what all the experts have to say.

I originally though that but the Bio that tag the bird tagged it in the nest in lake in Shapleigh  I believe around 7 yrs ago.

That is cool.  I didn't know how far they moved around.

That is cool.  I didn't know how far they moved around.

Several winters ago, Maine Fish and Wildlife established an eagle feeding station at Cobscook Bay State Park in Edmunds, using carcasses of deer, beaver, coyotes. Biologists read the eagle band numbers from a blind, using spotting scopes.  The interesting thing was that some of the 25 or so eagles had been banded as far away as Michigan and Wisconsin, then flew to open coastal water to feed in the winter.

Ha, must be Square Pond. They have done some tagging here numerous times before. We have a family that has nested in the same spot on an island for years. I'm sure I watched that one as a baby many times in the summer and winter. Also probably fed him his share of perch and pickerel.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did so. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

That's exactly what the Biologist told me.  I have had as many 7 eagles on beaver carcasses  or road kill deer at the same time in front of camp on Caribou lake over the years.

Last saturday I had a flag and caught a white perch .Well a eagle new it because it was watching me. I threw it on the ice it came in but we were to close and it landed in a tree. A little while I checked the other traps further away from the perch. The eagle swooped in and grabbed it and it went back to the tree to eat it. Was awesome to see, highlight of the day.

My wife just showed me your picture of the strutting eagle through water on the ice Woodchip. He has made it to Facebook with credits to you from Iceshanty. Schoodic Lakehouse posted it I believe.

My camera is an Olympus sp100ee With an 50x zoom I don't have to carry a lot of different lenses with me . It fits in my wind breaker pocket . It is so nice to have the fast acting camera and not having to reach for a different lens. My macro zoom also works very well . When traveling around up north I am able to be ready for near and far shots. I do take a lot of different people out and about for a day of photo shoots.

Looks like your not just local legend  anymore Bob.

Those pictures are awesome! I saved them when you first posted  them and look at them often. A good friend of mine takes care of Lawrence,  the bald eagle at the Maine  wildlife park,  I've been  wanting  to catch up with her to show them to her.

Those are great pics indeed. I take a few pics as well and understand how difficult it can be sometimes.
Not to hijack but this is probably my best eagle pic.

Action shot of eagle chasing osprey and osprey has to release his catch.
It must be something in the water.

Two bald eagles locked in combat in Augusta had to be released by wildlife officials. They are flying the skies of Augusta again.

We had that happen on the nursery I worked at in Washington state. We called the fish and game department and they assured us that prying the claws apart with plaits would not hurt the birds. It was pretty neat to hold one in my arms. They are huge when you get up close.
