Daughters first lake trout.

Took my 3 year old daughter up to the shack for her first sleep over and she had a blast.  We were going for a couple days but with temps in the -30's we waited another day and it did warmed up, but only for a bit.  Temps dropped to -40 so she was shack bound most of time.  We did muster a few fish though and she caught her firs laker.  I had the camera on the jig and got her hooked on watching the screen as she jigged the line.  It was awesome, the laker came in when she was jigging and hit, but she screamed so loud she the spooked the fish twice (4' of water).  Third time was the charm :) She did most of the reeling with Dad keeping a hand on/near the rod so not to loose it.

Thanks guys looking forward to many more years of it and the 8 month old boy to get a little bigger so he an go.  New shack build in the plans next year to fit the family.

Anyone can be a dad but you've shown what it means to be a father.  Hats off to you Jiggenfrogs and to your young angling daughter.
