Dodge Ram Tidal Wave n' Perch Fishing
« on: Mar 30, 2015, 05:16 PM »
Ice Fishing Saskatchewan for the first time with JUMBO yellow perch being our target species.  Sometimes life throws you lemons though and in those cases make lemonade.  After a very slow day and a no go at another lake in the early am due to heavy snow pack we found a little lake with some perch action.  While not the jumbos we were looking for there was plenty of action.  They were targeting water boatman and absolutely full of them.  A micro green jig worked excellent.  The weather couldn't be beet and we created quite a tidal wave going off the ice.

Nope... 10,000 lakes in saskatchewan.  It's not as easy to guess, haha.

You're only out a few thousand.  Tourism Saskatchewan estimates the number of lakes to be around 100,000.  The number of lakes with fish are about 94,000.  The number of lakes with fish in Alberta is about 800.

Yup you're right Makes it tough to guess a lake by a background
But most of the saskatchewan lakes seem inaccessible.   The roads a terrible as well.  I'll have to do some exploring in North saskatchewan.  There must be some good perch lakes up there.
