See you in November
« on: Mar 28, 2015, 10:53 PM »
Well the time has come to say good bye till November.  Have a safe open water year everyone.
Hugh
ps: I fell through a few days ago and that water is cold.  That was my last attempt to go fishing on the ice.

Another few days and the ice will be off my lake.  The rainbow are gathering around the streams to go up and spawn.  I will have to buy a belly boat, pontoon boat or float tube, waders and fins to pursue the rainbow this summer.  I've seen a float tube with an electric motor and a downrigger attached.  Is that cheating?  Oh I forgot to mention it also has a float tube fish finder.  Only $1700.
Spring and summer projects are getting in the way of fishing.
Any recommendations on which fishing platform to go with, maybe pro's and cons of each.  Newby in this type of fishing.
So many lakes, so little time.  For giggles google Horsefly Lake in the Cariboo of BC and see the surrounding lakes.  fisherman's paradise.
The cool part is we can actually keep and eat some of the fish.  LIG

I find my pontoon with the electric motor on back turns very easy so my arm has to be on the motor at all time adjusting which direction to keep it going straight. Id recommend a light small 12 foot aluminum boat. Can bring someone to net all your big fish, and holds all your gear comfortably..
Wont be long now.. Weather forcast for next week is lookin good. See what happends..

As you get older the seasons pass more quickly. As the saying goes "time waits for no man"

Good luck in the open waters

Its November.
Zee lake has ice all the way across.  Not thick enough to hold up a duck but it is there.  Took the boat out of the lake Tuesday.  7 inches of fresh snow on the ground.  Oh it looks like winter is here.  Where is my ice fishing stuff!!
