Purgatory The time between ice fishing and the boat.
« on: Mar 28, 2015, 04:59 PM »
I've put up my ice fishing stuff dug through my steelhead vest and organized that checked all my stuff for Maumee. Went through my turkey vest and calls. Drove my wife crazy for about the hundreth time. Looked my boat over its ready!!!!!! Anybody else having issues? W e might be able to get a group rate with the shrink. What do you do to keep your selves busy without being committed?

Put away the ice fishing stuff, clean out the garage including any accumulated stuff and scrap that I get over the winter.  Quick rake and roll of the lawn followed by fertilizer and other lawn & debris clean-up.  Summarize the winter toys/tools and get the vehicles up to date on any simple maintenance before summer.  Possibly try my luck at some steelhead and drag out the small Jon boat/trolling motor to see if I can find some ice out perch or specs.  By then its close to the opener and its then the big decision whether or not to take the boat out for some eyes or find a quiet stream to get some trout!  Some years, you might even get an early mushroom or two.

I guess I could say my purgatory, if you wan to call it that, would be from late may until early Sept.  I am more of a cold weather kind of person.

i cant stand summer.bugs, heat, jet  skiers on the lake rippin and roaring back and forth.ugh.im definitely a cold weather guy.i do like  calm evenings on the river waiting for a flathead to try to rip my rod out of the rod holder though.

play the guitar and argue with people on the interweb
But don't quote me on that. I have a drinking problem, I keep running out of beer. I've always been a little bit crazy, but its kept me from going insane.
