Just came back from Clearwater. Spent 4 days fishing on the lake. I had a Viking with tracks which worked well, along with 3 snowmobiles. First day pulling gear out didn't go well for the pulling sleds. Not enough snow to cool the machines causing them to overheat. Forced us to cut the haul out short to about 2 1/2 Kms. Snowed a bit on the second day to help a bit. We were going on the lake at Carpenters lodge. Very rough on south area with a lot of fragle ice. Encountered 2, 4x4 trucks about 10 kms out and they drove across from Evergreen resort. They said the west portion of the lake was not as rough. You can probably get on by The pump house, across from the airport. Warmer weather on the way. Probably quad or truck the way to go.

I wouldn't worry. Be wet snow. Feels like spring in the north

Havent talked to anyone lately....all I know that lake just froze over around Dec 14.   Lots of warm weather.  Our lakes around the lodge here mostly have 12" but very inconsistent ice.  Haven't ventured to middle of Reed yet to find out about that lake.

Haven't heard from anyone at clearwater in a while.  Reed lake only has 20" on average now, and heavy snow with very heavy slush in places.  These horrific winds as of late has made drifts everywhere.  It going to be an interesting march and april now....

My son and friend were at Clearwater three weeks ago ... not much snow then and the ice was very inconsistent ranging from 9" to 22" thick making it a bit scary for them driving full size trucks. They caught a few small lakers but cut the trip short due to the weather and ice conditions at that time. No idea what it's like now.

From Sask, and normally make trip up to Clearwater mid April as our season is closed.
Any reports on ice conditions as may have to change trip to end of March.
Thanks

Just heard today the lake has 25".  Reed has a bit more.  been real cold this week, and nights still.  Will keep building some more hopefully.  No idea how and when she will let go, but more than likely it will go fast when she decides to go!

You can probably get a map from Repo Maps.
I'm heading there in two weeks. Anybody know what travel is like on the lake? Is it tracks only or tire vehicles going out?

Any word on current conditions? I heard the forecasted big snow never happened earlier this week. I'm thinking the snow pac must be melting down with these temps. How's the ice holding up?
