I second that request...Highland...B antam....any NW ice where you can still get on/off.
But I get it that guys might be hesitant to report at the end of the season for safety reasons.

I can vouch for Bantam. I was on a spot Wednesday (east shore)  where the ice goes away earliest and walked right onto 12 inches of good ice. Being careful goes without saying.

Just got off of west hill.  At least 15-20" of ice.  Getting on was no problem but there was more water around the edges getting off.  Bring a plank and you should have no problem.  Lots of trout

If the snows' not going to be too bad I'll be headin' up Park, Winchester, Burr way- they seem to be the thickest+ safest places to jig+put out some flags this time of year.

East twin last night from 5:30-11. Ice very thick, maybe 14-20 inches (it varied). There were a few open holes from water seeping through from the rain, like cracks that had opened, but you could fish those as holes it was so thick around them. Now we are in a 24 hour below freezing period, it will def be good into this week as well. Bad news, one perch and one small brookie. think it was the low pressure.

I'll be up that way tomorrow too- went by crescent today: launch is a no-go, no one in lot-12" mixed ice 7"+ slush top w/ visible cracking- pretty much a no-go.-Hamlin's shot through-This shows shere the current rips through the pond-not northwest; but my buddy up in ellington saw two groups of guys chasing flags out on crystal today-see y'all in the N.W.!

Fished highland yesterday on firm ice aro 12-14". No plank needed at boat launch. The bite was on during the storm. Lots of flags and snow throughout the morning.  Mostly bass.  Will try it again today. I doubt it will be ready for boats on opening day.  May b able to ice fish it.

Put a leg through to my knee in 20 fow.  One step to the left I'd be testing my floating ability.  18-20" of ice otherwise.

Fished highland today down a ways from the launch. Edges were still pretty solid. Out in the middle I saw 16 to 18". Most of it being black with a few bubbles starting to form. Slow day for flags. I managed to jig up 12 or so trout. Mostly browns and 2 rainbows. Biggest being 13"

Whoa! man!-Scarin' me too!-Stay off them depths!-good reflexes!-If I were to fish highland tomorrow-I'd stay in the first bay-target 8-14' of water& go "on" a north facing shoreline.-I stopped by Winchester to check it out-looks like the first weekend of march up there!-18" solid ice w/ snow blowing across the top-can walk right on from the launch no problem.-no fish after jigging for an hour so I headed to burr to meet up w/ my cousin-walked right on from the right side of the point thru snow no problem-again17-18" solid ice w/ snow blowing across the holes all afternoon!-lots of flags for us both-plenty of small pickerel-cousin also brought up two 14-15" bass-I jigged up an 11" perch; and a 13" crappie-also a bass no bigger than the crappie- great day on the ice- still beautifully solid at both ponds- should be so through the week for them both-I'll be back up that way for the last weekend of ice season!- Good luck all!-Stay safe+ fish shallow!
