It has been a great 2014/2015 ice fishing season. I just wanted to post a few picture from throughout the season.
The Ice in Ontario had a bit of a slow start this year so we decided to head up “north” hoping that some of the smaller lakes would be frozen. This was my reward.
Once Lake Simcoe froze over we hit it a few time looking for some early ice lakers.
Then it was time for some Bay of Quinte Gold mining. We made several trips to Quinte this year and were lucky enough to run into some active fish every time.
Mid-season was all about Whitefish.
We ended the year fishing for late ice lakers. We fish for these guys 30-40 down over 100+fow. You don’t get to see much of them before they smash your bait.
The baits of choice this year were;
Lakers – Swammers, Vibrato’s & lipless cranks
Walleye – Jigging raps, buckshots spoons & Vibrato’s
White fish – Vibratos again & minnows.
I put my gear away last weekend and am looking forward to getting the Kayak out in May.
