15.5" Inches Long, 12.5" Girth, and just a few ozs. shy of 3 lbs.

This is a personal tool I made years ago for accurate measurements, you can see how confident I was at my chances of ever getting a 15" (as I didnt even make it 15 inches long) it measures 5 inches wide

That smile was permanently affixed for the entire day and still makes me smile

I always here of 15's, 16's, 17's and even 18's, but up close and personal I never get to actually see em, this fish made my day and my year, I was a bit happy to say the least after taking dam near 50,000 lbs. of yellows over the last 27 years, my first over 15 inches ever and I measure plenty yearly. I know bigger exist but when you look at the various state records there are only 6 total fish in 48 states that weigh over 3 lbs. for state records.

Nice PIGGY , great job on the tape. I'm 63 and caught 2 that hit 15.5. True giants and hard to beat. Believe me a fish of a lifetime. To many computer fishermen on this site,17 plus perch,20 in crappie but never a tape or pic. Congrats on the REEL deal. Getting it mounted?

Congrats! Even the perch I raise on my fish farm that get all they want to eat seem to hit a wall at about 15 inches. I've only produced one at 16 or over. Strange the camera is always left at home when a 16 inch fish is caught on the fishing boards.

Congrats , have never held a fifteen inch myself as well , watched enough videos showing true jumbo's being caught , best is 14.5 , but this weekend I lost my best right in a ten inch hole .......it couldn't turn around with out bending the last few inch's of his tail fin region ......buddy said for sure 15 or better ?..............one day , but awesome fish , great pic's

In a side by side comparison the fish out of this deep water finger lake (Seneca) where I caught this have a darkness to them. Compared to Oneida Lake they are the darkest and compared to Lake Ontario being the lightest.

wow you had to go through a lot of fish to know which fish you had to measure. You should consider changing your name to PERCHAHOLIC...lol

You know thats a lot of cleaning to do ...dont you. What method of cleaning would you incorporate on all those perch Tom?

For the majority of my poundage taken from Oct to Dec each year yes I sell them all, taken from a commercial zone with rod and reel, I keep anal records and know my exact poundage and have recorded all my bigger fish. In the winters I target different areas and change gears a lot just enjoying finesse fishing and mostly looking for larger fish. I still sell them as I do not eat very much, actually pretty much none at all, I do clean a few for friends and give a small amount away from my catches. But its still a passion I live for and look forward to.

My best 2 month season I took just shy of 7000 lbs., people laugh when I tell them I've taken almost 50,000 pounds in my life, but I laugh at 99% of everyone who tell me they've taken 16 -18" fish

Congrats on the great catches some are real whoppers! I'm just curious, what do yellow perch sell for in New York? I am from Ohio and only commercial fisherman can sell there catches, which at present time Yellow Perch are going for $11.00 to $13.00 a lb. Thanks for any replies and tite lines!!!

My fall takes head mostly to Canada but some do go to Ohio, buyers pay 1.75-2.25/lb and sell to cutters for 2.00-2.50/lb whole dead weight. We also have commercial netters in certain zones
