Ya looks like beautiful Late march fishing to me highs in the 20's wind speed measured is gusts. But still nicer than my Allagash trip -19 and blowing...

Saturday looks like it could be messy for you guys!! I'll remind you of these valuable days taken off ice fishing this November  ;D. Have fun!

28" of new snow since Sunday?  Really?  I had heard they gotta foot or so Sunday or so I thought.
Gamefisher,
I think this post in general is a good thing, warning IS members about slush conditions that have not been seen in quite a few years.  Removed my post as you suggested, hey he is a friend of yours and you are heading up to his camp to fish moosehead, no problem with that, did not know that until you made us aware on IS.  Still I stand behind the warning as this might save other IS members from a very unfortunate ordeal dealing with conditions as they are on many of the large Northern Maine Lakes right now.  Just passing on recent experience on East Grand and hoping you don't run into that on your trip to Moosehead.

Sincerely,
EmeraldShiner

I left there last Sunday and they got about around 12"-14" of snow. It has been cold up there as well. The lakes have been very rough the last 2 weekends I have been up there with the hard packed snow or bare ice. Many hard snow drifts. I spoke to the snowmobile repair shop today (mine was in there)  and he said it is good going on the lake and I shouldn't have any problems, as I'm heading back up tomorrow afternoon. It has been very cold (he said -2 below this morning). I will be on several lakes getting to where we fish and I don't anticipate any problems (I hope).  Last weekend the over heat light was coming on because of the lack of lubrication from no snow. Hard as a rock. Sometimes near the islands where there is a lot of rocks and warning buoys in the summer, there seems to be slush areas in those areas at times (out from Sandy Bay for example). I think you will be just fine and some of the best snowmobiling is to be had up there right now. Not many people up there this time of year, so enjoy. Have a great weekend.

One of the best weekends in a long, long time!  Lots of flags, all small fish, togue all 12"-20", salmon 10"-16", only one brookie 10-11" or so.  Lake is still very rough and hard packed, slush mainly confined to coves and shorelines, very little activity up there of any sort, I think people have had enough of winter. ;D  The smiles and laughs were far more important than the quality of the fish, thank you fishmoresurfless!  Quality memories, quality kids. @)

Your very welcome GF!  The boys are already talking about the next trip.  Just remember how much fun it was when we have to go on the full moon next year! ;)
Hopefully these guys will be doing this 30 years from now with their boys.

May God bless and keep you always, may your wishes all come true.
May you always do for others and let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars and climb on every rung,
