Got out for a bit on Saturday and was a beaut weather wise and fish wise. Went 4 for 7 and had 6 or 7 more chasers. Kept a couple for a feed

Nice fish bud, just started fishing Lakers this past couple of weeks and yet to get one in, I guess it is mother nature putting me through the learning curve. Very nice, Congrats

Would be quite a drive for you to come to supper :) I have never been to a fish boil how do they cook them? I am a big fan of the deep fryer for fish other than trout. Trout are a stronger tasting fish and I like to fry them in a pan with a hint of garlic, lots of onion powder and cajun spice on both sides. The fish were caught at a lake near Barrys Bay Ontario Caught them jigging in 100 fow with a swim bait

I had a rough time when I first started fishing lakers. The two things that made a difference for me were

1) electronics . No matter what the brand i will not ice fish for trout with out a flasher of some sorts

2) Dont be stuck fishing deep water all the time. Have caught them right under the ice @ 8 feet

Good luck in your quest

First few times out I was deep and the last 2 I have been lake hoping such as yesterday 93-29 ft. Thanks for the info, have electronics Vexilar FL 12 and Lowrance Elite 3, going to play more with the Elite 3 the remainder of the season since it is new to me. I do love my vex though.
