Great Weekend on the Hardwater
« on: Mar 16, 2015, 04:47 PM »
Contrary to popular belief, SLOW-bego wasn't that slow. We iced over 40 togue in two days for the group. Special thanks to Captain Ed for having me down.

Ummm..... that's not the title of the thread we discussed. ;D. Amazing what can happen when you adjust your tactics to the situation at hand, others on here would be well served to do so as well. ::). The togue slayer gets it done once again, can't imagine what kind of results you would put up if you fished it more than once a year. ;D That last togue looks like a pretty good one.  @)

I know you practice C&R. So thanks for pulling some of them junk fish out. A few less to worry about while I'm searching for my wall hanger salmon. Congrats on the great weekend Matt. I'm guessing 90% was on the stick.

The only way that slot is going to work is if you kill everything under it. 100% jigging

Nice fish!  I was the guy who fished around you and joined your group briefly Saturday afternoon.  You were certainly showing the rest of us how it's done!

I didn't realize who it was. You put a few miles on that day. Nice little rig you have for carrying your gear!

Thanks, smitty sled is definitely the way to go if you're on foot.  I'd never fished that area of the lake before.  It's amazing to me how that lake is big enough that different areas on the lake fish so differently.  Techniques I do very well with in other spots on the lake didn't seem to work well there.

The togue in there are a tight lipped bunch! It's amazing how 25' can be the difference of marking tons of fish and having a blank screen.
