« on: Mar 13, 2015, 05:27 PM »
Wondering if anyone has beta on dillon? Ive tried the snake river
inlet a few times and willow creek inlet too.. wasn't impressed at all.
A couple stocker quality bows at willow crk and one tiny char and and 12" bow at snake
Anyone know of better access? Fidhing depths etc.? Any advice would be great.. want an alternative to the green
Thanks so much.. im willing to catch any species...

I've only fished Dillon early season, in November for Kokes.  I know there are some good browns in there, though.
Flags up, gentlemen!!!

Was there last Saturday, the 14th.  Fished straight off the boat ramp with a group of four.  Kokes were in and out AND extremely finicky! Landed about a 20 or so...lots of dinks.  Landed two arctic char between the four.  Saw a hawg brown get caught right by us. Used shrimp...waxies...suck er meat on tubes and metal. Magic depth was around 60 feet and most fish being suspended in about 35-40 FOW.  Two feet of ice!

Hit up.the snake inlet again but differnet , location... late start due to migraine but managed 2 browns 3 rainbows and one char and that char fought pretty good for 14"..

Da teacher;.  not sure what boat ramp you are referring to but would like to.get into. some.kokes before season is done dinks are
fine.. a few for the smoker r would be great.. otherwise catch and release.

Gonna try fri morning and get on the ice more as long as it holds up... I enjoy the lack of people.. actually havent.seen anyone.else during.the.week... anf its 30 min from me..

kokes were pretty small... tough to fillet for smoker the char was about 14" and put up a better fight than green mountains 18 inch lake trout..

thinking about trying new water on dillon would like to try near the dam but access seems tough... not interested in hand drilling 2ft of ice with my new back injury and lugging the jiffy down from the closes parking area does sound fun either... maybe a long walk from the boat ramp with my smitty?

or try dillon marina area?
