I'm shaking my head in disbelief!

Before leaving the house this morning to go walleye fishing, I checked the walleye standings for the IS tourney. I knew I had to beat 28 inches and I DID……29 inches….woohoo……finally. My friend tells me it was exactly 1 year ago today that I landed my last 29 inch walleye.

Anyways, after measuring it on my bump board, I realized I had a 2nd place fish. It was a mad scramble to the truck to get my tourney card and camera. Took the pic and then released the fish. I was pumped and then while sitting there, I realized I NEVER TOOK A TAPE MEASURE PIC……OMG! Not only that, to add insult to my brain fart, I never checked my camera from the last time I used it to experiment and take NIGHT photos. Oh well……lesson learned……BE PREPARED and CHECK PHOTO quality before releasing the fish…..LOL!

Things happen in threes…..right? Well, it did for me…..I forgot my auger flyte pin on top of the truck's tonneau cover…….I heard a "ping" noise as I drove away checked my mirror and saw nothing so kept on trucking……..DOH!

I just turned 60…..yah….that's it…….getting senile! LOL!

Hey Blue, I'm right there with you ... same in years and forgetting things all the time. Nice fish though ... congrats! :thumbsup: :clap:

yep, always seem to forget something for that tourney.

have had 2 fish that would have placed dq'ed for stupid mistakes the last 2 years in a row...
-had a white tape not yellow on a large northern so it was booted
-dorsal fin went up and i didnt notice it covered some of the tape on a walleye

Only 60---WAIT, it get's worse! ::)  Reminds me of a gentleman I know who told his son that he felt like he was 90. The reply was: pop; you're 101!  :laugh:
Nice fish, now make some notes on what to do when you get the next one!

Blue nice one, I did the same thing in Feb when I came up....only brought the bump board..but Im a couple months younger than you!

Looking at the final standings, that 29 incher would have placed me in 3rd place  ::)
